Vince McGraw

Vince McGraw founded the Society of Inkwell Collectors in 1981 to bring together a community of inkwell collectors from around the world, help them keep in touch, and provide a forum for sharing information about inkwells and inkwell collecting.

Vince began collecting in 1965. While attending an auction, hepurchased his first inkwell in Crawfordsville, Indiania, and became hooked on inkwells.

In 1972, he published a book about his collection, "McGraw's Book of Antique Inkwells". The book generated a lot of correspondence, and Vince realized that inkwell collectors needed a way to communicate with each other and to learn more about inkwells and writing accessories. It was this realization that led to his founding of the Society of Inkwell Collectors.

The inkwell community lost Vince McGraw, when he died on April 3, 2000.
