Request Materials

Requesting Articles:
New! Articles can be delivered directly to you, via either mail or e-mail. Make your request via phone or e-mail to the Librarian. If you are not sure if the library has a copy of the article, please inquire. (Copies delivered via mail will have Photocopy Charges apply -- see below.)

Requesting Books:
Simply find the item you are looking for in the Library Catalog, and make the request through your local library. The book will come to you through your local library, the same as any other book you would check out. You then simply return the item through your same library. It’s that easy! *

Some details: 1) if your local library doesn’t pick up shipping fees, you pay a flat rate of current Priority Mail prices for a box (currently $8.10) or an envelope (currently $4.05), per mailing (international shipping follows Global Priority Shipping Rates); 2) some rarer items may have use restrictions to protect them, limiting your use of them to your library building; and 3) some items may be too rare to lend, though copies of table of contents or indices are available to help you narrow your area of interest in the item, and your select areas may be copied and sent to you; 4) your local library should send an e-mail to the Librarian to request items, and they should include the title, author, and call number from the Library Catalog.
