Awards Procedures & Rules

Vince McGraw Cobalt Inkwell Award

1. No more than three awards shall be given in any calendar year.
2. Awards shall be presented at the Annual Convention banquet.
3. Nominations for Award recipients shall be sent to the Executive Director no later than one month prior to the opening date of the Annual Convention.
4. The Executive Director will submit to the Board of Directors a list of the candidates nominated for the Award to be voted upon prior to the Annual Convention.
5. The Board of Directors, by popular vote shall select the top three members to receive the award.
6. The Executive Director shall prepare Award Certificates to be presented at the Annual Convention.

Helen Grossman Collector's Award

1. Only one award shall be given in any calendar year.
2. Awards shall be presented at the annual convention banquet.
3. Nominations for the Award shall be sent to Society Headquarters no later than two months prior to the opening date of the Annual Convention. Request for nominations will be put in The Stained Finger, and on the web page www.soic.com.
4. Nominations should contain a description of the collection, and pictures if possible.
5. The Executive Director shall prepare a list of nominations, with supporting material, to be distributed to the Board of Directors.
6. The Board of Directors, by majority vote, shall select the collection most worthy of the Award.
7. The Executive Director shall prepare a suitable Award to be presented at the annual banquet.
